One man injured in shooting near Austin, Chicago: police

Chicago Austin _ A man was injured in a shooting in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood on Sunday. Police said the incident occurred just after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in the 5400 block of West Madison Street. According to police, a 45-year-old male victim was involved in a verbal altercation with an unidentified male offender.

When the argument escalated into a physical altercation, the offender pulled out a gun and fired in the victim’s direction. The victim was shot in the buttocks.

He was taken to Loyola Hospital in good condition. Police said the offender fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle in an unknown direction. The offender is not in custody at this time, and four detectives are investigating the area.
